BTS's Suga Establishes Treatment Center for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

On June 23, Suga of BTS (방탄소년단) inaugurated the 'Min Yoongi Treatment Center' at Severance Hospital, dedicated to providing specialized care for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder. He made a remarkable donation of 5 billion KRW and has actively engaged in teaching music to the children, contributing his talents, and participating in the development of treatment programs.
This donation marks the largest contribution by an artist to Yonsei Medical Center and is the highest single donation by a celebrity in South Korea's history. While BTS is a global sensation, the idea of an individual donating such a substantial amount is quite extraordinary.
Suga's philanthropic efforts are not new; he has consistently supported various causes, including a 100 million KRW donation to a pediatric cancer foundation in 2019, another 100 million KRW for COVID-19 recovery in 2020, and similar contributions for pediatric cancer treatment, wildfire recovery, and earthquake relief in Turkey over the following years.
In response to Suga's heartfelt initiative, the BTS fanbase, known as ARMY, has begun a donation relay on social media, voluntarily contributing to the 'Min Yoongi Treatment Center' and sharing their participation online.
This cycle of kindness continues as BTS and ARMY inspire each other to give back. With Suga's recent discharge from military service on June 21, all members of BTS have completed their military duties and are preparing for a full group comeback later this year.
