BTS's Suga Apologizes Again for Past DUI as He Completes Military Service

Suga of BTS (방탄소년단) has issued another apology regarding his past DUI incident as he was officially discharged from military service on June 21, 2025. In a heartfelt message on the fan platform Weverse, he expressed his joy at being able to greet fans again after a long time, stating, "Today marks my discharge, and I have been thinking a lot about how to say hello after such a long absence." He continued, "I sincerely apologize for disappointing you and causing concern due to last year's incident. I am truly grateful to the fans who have waited for me, and I will strive to repay the love you have given me in the future."

Reflecting on his two years of service, Suga shared, "I believe I had time to think about myself. I wanted to take a step back from the work I have been doing for a long time and view it from a distance. I realized that while I was focused on moving forward, I hadn’t taken the time to reflect on myself, and this period allowed me to do just that."

Last August, Suga was fined 15 million won after being charged with riding an electric scooter while under the influence. He expressed his regret, saying, "I was very upset that I hurt the feelings of my fans, and I also feel sorry for the members who must have felt heavy-hearted in their own places."

With Suga's discharge, all members of BTS have now completed their military duties, marking the return of the group to their fans after approximately two and a half years since the eldest member Jin enlisted in December 2022.
