BTS's RM Shares New Year Greetings and Military Update

On February 1, RM (30, Kim Namjoon) of BTS (방탄소년단) took to Weverse to send his New Year wishes. He asked fans if they had a good Lunar New Year and if they enjoyed 떡국 (rice cake soup). Reflecting on his age, he humorously noted, 'I can't believe I'm already 32 in Korean age. As for the military, it seems all four of us (RM, Jungkook (정국), V (뷔), and Jimin (지민)) have been promoted to sergeant. It's a proud moment, but I hear military life is just beginning. The thought of returning to civilian life is a happy one.'

He described the past year as overwhelming, filled with memories that will likely linger, whether good or bad. RM expressed his admiration for fellow members Jin (진) and J-Hope (제이홉) for their support during his service. 'When I return as civilian Kim Namjoon, I have so much to share, including stories I can't tell right now. I believe there will be a time to convey them in my own way.' He also mentioned that February has arrived, and he is preparing for his return in about four months, keeping busy with exercise, playing instruments, and studying through music and films.

RM enlisted in December 2023 and is currently serving in the Army Band, with his discharge date set for June 10. He humorously added, 'I shaved my head again to celebrate my promotion to sergeant. The photo is from before the shave. I'm managing well, so don't worry too much about me.'
