BTS's Jin Celebrates Release of 'Echo' with Fans at Special Event
On May 17, Jin of BTS (방탄소년단) held a special offline event titled 'Don’t Say You Love Me @Seongsu' in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, to celebrate the release of his mini-album 'Echo'. During the event, he expressed his gratitude, stating, "The support from my fans resonates deeply in my heart. This is the happiest time for me." Fans who couldn't attend in person were able to watch the performance through the global fan platform Weverse and TikTok Live.
Jin kicked off the event with a powerful performance of the title track 'Don’t Say You Love Me', captivating the audience with his delicate vocals over a clean sound. After the live performance, he humorously noted, "The microphone stand was about 0.3 cm too high, which was a bit disappointing," and he delighted fans by performing the song again on the spot at their request.
He continued to showcase a variety of songs from the album, including 'A Journey with Clouds' and 'To Myself Today', while also taking time to answer questions from fans throughout the performance.
Sharing insights about 'A Journey with Clouds', Jin mentioned that he envisioned clouds and a child during the songwriting process, likening them to himself and his fans. He also discussed his upcoming solo fan concert tour, set to begin on June 28-29 at the Goyang Sports Complex, stating, "I plan to create a fun and engaging experience without being bound by format." At the end of the concert, he reiterated, "The support from my fans resonates deeply in my heart. This is the happiest time for me. Thanks to ARMY, I get to be a singer, create music, and perform on stage. I am grateful for your existence," which moved many in attendance.

According to the latest charts from Spotify, the title track 'Don’t Say You Love Me' garnered over 3.62 million streams on its release day (May 16), debuting at number 9 on the 'Daily Top Songs Global' chart. Other tracks from the album, such as 'Nothing Without Your Love', 'Loser (feat. YENA(최예나))', 'Rope It', 'A Journey with Clouds', and 'Background', also made their mark on the charts, showcasing Jin's strong presence in the music scene. In Japan, 'Don’t Say You Love Me' quickly climbed to the top of the Oricon 'Daily Digital Single Ranking' on the same day, further proving his popularity.
