BTS's Jimin Donates 100 Million Won to Support Fellow Soldiers During Military Service

BTS (방탄소년단) member Jimin (지민) continues to make quiet contributions even while serving in the military. On November 22, the Chungnam Community Chest of Korea (충남 사회복지공동모금회) announced that Jimin has joined the Honor Society after donating 100 million won to the 'Patriotic Dedication and Love for Comrades Fund' in collaboration with the Army on National Armed Forces Day, which was celebrated on October 1.
Currently serving in the military, Jimin learned about the fund's purpose, which aims to support soldiers who have dedicated and sacrificed themselves for the nation. He expressed his desire to help fellow soldiers facing difficulties during their service through a donation made by his father.
In September, Jimin's father personally contacted the community chest, stating, "I would like to donate to support the soldiers working hard for our country," and subsequently delivered the generous donation of 100 million won.
The donated funds will be allocated to the 'Army Patriotic Dedication and Love for Comrades Fund,' which has been running since 2018 in partnership with the Army. The funds will be used to provide living expenses, medical support, and scholarships for Army personnel and their families who have dedicated their lives to serving the nation.
Since 2019, Jimin has also been actively supporting students from low-income families by donating 100 million won annually for scholarships across various regions, including Busan, Jeonnam, Chungbuk, and Gyeongnam. Additionally, he has contributed to initiatives such as replacing desks and chairs for students at his alma mater, funding polio eradication efforts, and providing aid for earthquake victims, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to philanthropy.
