BTS's J-Hope Surprises Fans with Louvre Museum Collaboration

On March 25, 2025, J-Hope of BTS (방탄소년단) made a surprise appearance on the official social media channels of the Louvre Museum in Paris, France. In a video shared by the museum, J-Hope greeted viewers and introduced his new song 'MONA LISA,' stating, "She’s an inspiration."

As he performed a snippet of 'MONA LISA,' the scene transitioned to reveal the iconic painting 'Mona Lisa' (Gioconda, Monna Lisa) displayed in the museum, creating a delightful moment that thrilled global fans.

According to Big Hit Music, this collaboration was initiated by the Louvre Museum's outreach. On March 18, the museum commented on a concept photo for 'MONA LISA' posted on BTS's official social media, asking, "You mean our Mona Lisa?" This sparked significant interest, leading the museum to follow J-Hope and BTS's accounts. Subsequently, the museum proposed a formal video shoot, resulting in this unique content.

The Louvre Museum is renowned as one of the 'Big Three' museums in the world, alongside the British Museum and the Vatican Museums. Located in the heart of Paris, it is the largest art museum globally and attracts the highest number of visitors each year.

Released on March 21, J-Hope's digital single 'MONA LISA' playfully explores the theme of being captivated by an attractive person. The title draws inspiration from the museum's famous artwork, emphasizing that true allure comes from one's unique qualities rather than mere physical beauty.

The music video and performances of 'MONA LISA' showcase J-Hope's exceptional talent as a world-class performer. The choreography incorporates poses reminiscent of admiring or photographing a masterpiece, and features movements that evoke the image of an artist focusing before sketching.

'MONA LISA' is currently making waves on global charts. As of March 24, it reached the number one spot on the iTunes 'Top Songs' chart in 74 countries, including Brazil, France, and Japan, and maintained the top position on the Worldwide iTunes Song chart for five consecutive days from March 21 to 25. The upcoming UK Official Chart is expected to see 'MONA LISA' enter the top 10, marking J-Hope's first solo track to achieve this milestone.

Meanwhile, J-Hope is currently on a large-scale world tour, connecting with fans worldwide. He kicked off his North American tour at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on March 14-15, with all shows sold out in cities like Brooklyn, Chicago, and Mexico City. The tour will continue at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio on March 27-28 as part of the 'j-hope Tour 'HOPE ON THE STAGE.'
