BTS's J-Hope Reaches 1.1 Billion Won in Personal Donations
J-Hope, a member of the globally renowned group BTS (방탄소년단), has achieved a remarkable milestone by accumulating a total of 1.1 billion won in personal donations. On January 2, the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association (희망브리지 전국재해구호협회) announced that J-Hope contributed 100 million won to support victims of the Jeju Air passenger plane tragedy.
In his statement, J-Hope expressed, "Upon hearing the news of the accident, I decided to donate in hopes of providing some assistance to the affected families." He also extended his condolences and comfort to all those grieving due to the incident.
Shin Hoon, the Secretary-General of Hope Bridge, expressed gratitude for J-Hope's generous gesture, assuring that the funds would be delivered to the families in need.
With this latest donation, J-Hope's total contributions have reached 1.1 billion won. His philanthropic journey began in 2018 when he donated 150 million won through the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation to support children in need and those with health challenges. By last year, his cumulative donations had already surpassed 1 billion won.
J-Hope has consistently engaged in charitable activities, including a notable donation of 100 million won in 2023 for emergency relief for children affected by the Turkey-Syria earthquake. Additionally, he sent a food truck to a dog shelter he has been supporting since 2022, further showcasing his commitment to giving back.
Moreover, J-Hope is a member of the Honor Society (아너스클럽) of Hope Bridge, participating in various donation events, including contributions for flood relief in 2023. His actions reflect a positive influence, channeling the love he receives from fans into meaningful charitable efforts.
