BTS Requests Fans to Avoid In-Person Visits as Members Prepare for Military Discharge
As BTS (방탄소년단) approaches the end of their military service, their agency, Big Hit Music (빅히트 뮤직), has issued a request for fans to refrain from visiting the discharge sites. On June 7, the agency announced via the official fan community Weverse that RM (알엠), Jimin (지민), V (뷔), and Jungkook (정국) are set to complete their mandatory military service.
The agency emphasized that the discharge day will see many soldiers being released, and no official events will be held. Due to the limited space at the locations, there are concerns about potential safety hazards caused by overcrowding.
Big Hit Music urged fans to prioritize the safety of both the artists and themselves by avoiding in-person attendance. They encouraged fans to send their warm welcomes and support from a distance.
V and RM enlisted in the army on December 11, 2023, serving in the 2nd Infantry Division Military Police Special Mission Unit (SDT) and the 15th Infantry Division, respectively, and are scheduled to be discharged on June 10. Jimin and Jungkook joined the military on December 12, 2023, serving in the 5th Infantry Division, with their discharge set for June 11.
