BTS Proves Global Influence with Apple Music Streaming Success

BTS (방탄소년단) has once again demonstrated their global impact. On July 7, Apple Music unveiled a list of the 500 most streamed songs on their platform over the past decade. BTS made a notable appearance with two tracks: 'Dynamite' at 34th place and 'Butter' at 252nd, marking them as the only K-pop group to feature on this chart.

Released in 2020, 'Dynamite' was BTS's first song performed entirely in English. This upbeat disco-pop track, characterized by its catchy rhythm and vibrant performances, provided a message of hope during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, offering comfort to many.

With 'Dynamite,' BTS became the first South Korean act to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100, holding the top spot for three consecutive weeks. The song also earned them the 'Best Song' award at the 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards and the 'Top Selling Song' at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. Additionally, BTS was nominated for a Grammy Award and achieved the fastest diamond certification in the streaming category from the Japan Record Association, surpassing 500 million streams.

Following this, 'Butter,' released in 2021, also achieved remarkable success, topping the Billboard Hot 100 for a total of 10 weeks. The song garnered accolades such as 'Favorite Pop Song' at the 2021 American Music Awards and 'Top Selling Song' at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards. BTS was nominated for a Grammy Award for 'Butter' as well, marking their second consecutive year as nominees following 'Dynamite.'

In other news, BTS is set to release their first live album, 'PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE - LIVE,' on July 18 at 1 PM. This album will feature 22 selected tracks from their tour of the same name, which took place from 2021 to 2022, including performances of 'ON,' 'FIRE' (불타오르네), 'DOPE' (쩔어), and 'IDOL.'
