BTS Members Set to Return as Full Group This Month

BTS (방탄소년단) is gearing up for a full group comeback this month as members RM (알엠) and V (뷔) complete their military service on the 10th, followed by Jimin (지민) and Jungkook (정국) on the 11th. Suga (슈가), who is currently serving as a social service agent, will be discharged on the 21st.
The group’s return coincides with their 12th debut anniversary on June 13, which is expected to draw massive celebrations from fans worldwide, known as ARMY. This year, the festivities will span two weeks, featuring various online and offline events. Notably, from June 13 to 14, Goyang KINTEX will host over 20 exhibition booths showcasing the members' personal items and awards. Additionally, J-Hope (제이홉) will hold a solo concert at Goyang Sports Complex during this time, where all members are anticipated to attend and share their thoughts on their military experiences. Although Suga's discharge is later in the month, he is expected to participate in the weekend concert due to his alternative service status. With a venue capacity of up to 50,000, the events are likely to attract hundreds of thousands of ARMY to Goyang City over the two days.
The return of BTS is a significant boost for the entire K-pop industry, as the presence of such a top-tier group enhances the global recognition of K-pop and the Hallyu wave. According to the Korea Culture and Tourism Institute, a single BTS concert can generate an economic impact of approximately 1 trillion KRW. In the latter half of this year, BLACKPINK will also resume their world tour and new music activities after a two-year hiatus.
Plans for BTS's full group activities are expected to be confirmed by the end of this year or early next year. HYBE CFO Lee Kyung-jun mentioned in a conference call last year that discussions regarding 2026 group activities are ongoing. Despite the military hiatus, the members have actively pursued solo projects, achieving Billboard Hot 100 entries individually. HYBE CEO Lee Jae-sang stated in a recent shareholders' meeting that preparations for their comeback are underway, emphasizing the importance of each artist's reflection and readiness.
