BTS Members RM, V, Jungkook, and Jimin Set to Return as Civilians This Week
Members of the global sensation BTS (방탄소년단), RM (알엠), V (뷔), Jungkook (정국), and Jimin (지민) are set to return to civilian life this week. RM and V, who enlisted in the army on December 11, 2023, will be discharged on June 10, 2025. RM served in the Army's 15th Infantry Division Military Band, while V was part of the 2nd Corps Military Police Special Operations Unit. Jimin and Jungkook, who joined the military on December 12, 2023, will also be discharged on June 11, 2025, after serving in the 5th Infantry Division.
In anticipation of their return, their agency, Big Hit Music, has issued a statement emphasizing the importance of safety on the day of discharge. They noted that there will be no official events and urged fans to refrain from visiting the discharge locations due to limited space and potential safety concerns. Instead, they encouraged fans to send warm welcomes and support from afar.
BTS will complete their military service when Suga (슈가), who is currently serving as a social service worker, is discharged on June 21, 2025. Following the end of their military hiatus, the group is expected to begin preparations for their comeback.
In a previous appearance on Jeong Jae-hyung's YouTube channel, J-Hope (제이홉) hinted at the group's plans, stating, "I think we will start preparing for BTS-related activities right after our discharge. We need to plan meticulously."
The excitement in the industry is palpable as BTS is known for setting unprecedented records in K-pop history. Even during their military service, the members have made significant impacts with their solo albums, topping charts like Billboard. With the members reuniting after two years of individual growth and experiences, the anticipation for their collective return is immense.
Fans are eager to see what new music and identities BTS will present. The group is expected to make a full comeback by the end of this year or early next year.
