BTS Members Jimin and Jungkook Complete Military Service and Return to Fans

On June 11, 2025, BTS (방탄소년단) members Jimin (지민) and Jungkook (정국) will officially conclude their 1 year and 6 months of military service. Ahead of their discharge, their agency, Big Hit Music, issued a statement emphasizing that the discharge day will see many soldiers returning home, and no official events will be held due to space constraints and safety concerns. They urged fans to refrain from visiting the discharge locations to ensure everyone's safety.
Jimin and Jungkook enlisted in the army on December 12, 2023, serving in the 5th Infantry Division's Artillery Brigade. Notably, Jungkook gained attention for his role as a cook during his service, humorously stating, "I’m cooking well."
About a month before his discharge, Jungkook engaged with fans on the Weverse platform, posting updates about his well-being and expressing excitement about returning. He wrote, "How are you? Hehe, I’m going out soon. Today is shoulder day for my workout," and encouraged fans to support fellow members Jin (진) and J-Hope (제이홉) in their activities.
In March, while still in service, Jungkook made headlines for his generous donation of 1 billion KRW to Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association to aid victims of large-scale wildfires in Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam, marking one of the highest individual donations by a celebrity.
Jimin also expressed his eagerness for discharge in April, stating, "It’s really not long now." He reassured fans that he was doing his best to stay healthy and safe during his service. In response to a fan's question about his thoughts before sleeping, he shared his excitement about growing his hair out, trying new styles, and his hopes for future activities with BTS.
As Jimin and Jungkook prepare to reunite with fans, they join their fellow members who have already completed their military service. Jin was discharged in June 2024, and J-Hope followed in October 2024. Just a day before, on June 10, RM (알엠) and V (뷔) also completed their service, meaning all BTS members, except Suga (슈가), will have finished their military duties.
Suga enlisted in September 2023 and is currently serving as a social service worker, with his discharge scheduled for June 21, 2025. J-Hope hinted in March that the members would likely prepare various BTS-related activities upon their return. Additionally, BTS will celebrate their 12th anniversary with the '2025 BTS FESTA' offline event on June 13 and 14 at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, further heightening anticipation for their full group comeback.
