BTS Members Jimin and Jungkook Complete Military Service
On June 11, 2025, Jimin (지민) and Jungkook (정국) of BTS (방탄소년단) officially completed their military service. A ceremony was held at the Yeoncheon Public Stadium in Gyeonggi Province, where fans and media gathered to celebrate their return. The duo enlisted together in December 2023 and served in the Army's 5th Division Artillery Brigade. Jungkook, known for his exceptional cooking skills, served as a cook during his time in the military, which garnered significant attention.
During the ceremony, Jungkook expressed his nervousness about being in front of the camera again, saying, "It's been so long since I've been in front of the camera, I feel shy and don't know what to say. I want to thank my seniors, juniors, and especially the officers who worked hard alongside us. Thank you for taking care of us."
Jimin also shared his gratitude, stating, "Thank you for coming from afar to see us. ARMY, it’s been a long time since the pandemic and military service, and I appreciate your patience. Now that we are discharged, I believe we can continue to create the art we’ve been working on. We will prepare to show you even better versions of ourselves."
He added, "This was my first experience in the military, and it was not easy. I didn’t underestimate it, but it was challenging. I’ve made many memories and bonds during this time, and I will cherish them. To the citizens, I want to say that the military is not an easy place. There are many who are working hard, so if you see soldiers, please take a moment to say a kind word to them."
BTS members Jin (진) and J-Hope (제이홉) had previously completed their service last year, while RM (알엠) and V (뷔) returned to fans on June 10. Suga (슈가), who is serving as a social service worker, will be discharged on June 21.
