BTS Continues to Dominate Globally Without a Break

As the year comes to a close, BTS (방탄소년단) shows no signs of slowing down. According to the latest charts released by Billboard on December 3, 2024, Jin's solo album 'Happy' has entered the main album chart, 'Billboard 200', at number 83 for the second consecutive week. The album also ranks third on the 'World Albums' chart and 18th on 'Top Album Sales'.

The title track 'Running Wild' maintains its position at 12th on the 'Global (excluding U.S.)' chart and 33rd on the 'Global 200'. Another track, '네게 닿을 때까지' (Until I Reach You), appears on several charts, including 119th on 'Global (excluding U.S.)' and 1st on 'World Digital Song Sales'. With this week's success, Jin has topped the 'World Digital Song Sales' chart for two weeks in a row, following his previous number one with 'Heart on the Window (with Wendy)'.

Jimin and Jungkook are also enjoying ongoing success. Jimin's song 'Who' is currently at 56th on the Billboard 'Hot 100', while his second solo album 'MUSE' ranks 157th on the 'Billboard 200', marking 19 weeks on the chart. 'Who' is 22nd on the 'Global (excluding U.S.)' chart and 30th on the 'Global 200'. Jungkook's first solo single 'Seven (feat. Latto)' is at 136th on the 'Global 200' and 86th on the 'Global (excluding U.S.)'.

Additionally, RM has achieved a significant milestone. His second solo album 'Right Place, Wrong Person' has been listed at 88th in Rolling Stone's 'The 100 Best Albums of 2024', making him the only K-pop artist to feature on this prestigious list. Rolling Stone praised RM for exploring the duality between his public persona and his true self, stating that the album blends psychedelic and emotional sounds with introspective lyrics.

Fans can learn more about RM's album in the upcoming documentary 'RM: Right People, Wrong Place', set to premiere on December 5. This film, which chronicles the making of his second solo album, will be screened in over 90 countries and regions worldwide. It was notably invited to the Open Cinema section of the 29th Busan International Film Festival, marking a significant achievement as the first K-pop documentary to receive such an honor. The world premiere took place on September 7 at the Busan Cinema Center's outdoor theater.
