Brothers Jang Hyuk-jae and Jang Tae-yu Mourn the Loss of Their Father

Jang Hyuk-jae and Jang Tae-yu, prominent figures in the South Korean entertainment industry, are grieving the loss of their father, Jang Young-sik, who passed away on January 12 at the age of 80. The funeral service is being held at Room 21 of the Asan Medical Center in Seoul, with the burial scheduled for January 14 at 10:20 AM at Noryangjin Dongsan Cemetery.

Jang Hyuk-jae, the elder brother, is known for his successful career as a variety show producer, having joined SBS as part of the 6th public recruitment in 1996. He has produced numerous hit shows, including X-Man (엑스맨) and Family Outing (패밀리가 떴다). After leaving SBS, he transitioned to become the head of production companies Studio Gaon and Film Greeda, where he has worked on popular series such as Netflix's The Accidental Detective (범인은 바로 너!) and Disney+'s The Zone (더 존), as well as Coupang Play's Shooting Star (슈팅스타).

Younger brother Jang Tae-yu joined SBS in 1998 as part of the 7th public recruitment and has received acclaim for his work on several hit dramas, including War of Money (쩐의 전쟁), Painter of the Wind (바람의 화원), Deep Rooted Tree (뿌리 깊은 나무), My Love from the Star (별에서 온 그대), Hyena (하이에나), and Hong Cheon-ki (홍천기). Last year, he made his historical drama debut with MBC's Flowers Bloom at Night (밤에 피는 꽃). Currently, he is preparing to direct the new tvN drama The Chef of the Tyrant (폭군의 셰프), a collaboration between Film Greeda and Studio Dragon.
