Broadcaster Ahn Hyun-mo Faces Backlash Over Post Related to Jeju Air Crash

Broadcaster Ahn Hyun-mo has come under fire for a post related to the tragic crash of a Jeju Air flight. On December 30, she shared a photo on her social media while waiting for a flight at the airport. In her post, she reflected, "I have boarded flights on Friday, Saturday, and today, and I realize that everything about flying is a matter of luck. I am grateful for everything. The more I think about it, both my breaths can be filled with sorrow."
According to the Fire Agency, on December 29 at 9:07 AM, Jeju Air flight 7C2216 crashed while attempting to land at Muan International Airport, colliding with the runway's outer wall. The flight had a total of 181 people on board, including 6 crew members, 173 South Korean passengers, and 2 Thai passengers. Tragically, 179 individuals lost their lives, with only 2 survivors reported.
While Ahn's post appears to express her thoughts on the disaster, it has sparked controversy online. Critics argue that using the term 'luck' in the context of such a tragedy was inappropriate. However, some voices caution against overreacting to her comments. Meanwhile, the government has declared a national mourning period lasting until January 4 at midnight.
