It showcases the contributions and sacrifices of 16 combat-support nations (including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Netherlands, Canada, New Zealand, France, Turkey, Philippines, Greece, Thailand, South Africa, Belgium, Luxembourg, Colombia, and Ethiopia) and 6 medical-support nations (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Italy, Germany, and India) who fought under the UN flag. The exhibition also honors other Latvian soldiers who died in the Korean War, including Rudolf Liepa and Bruno Glazers, as well as Leodīns Ozoliņš, Gunārs Stopnieks, and Vismandis Mangulis. A total of 14 confirmed Latvian soldiers served in the U.S. military during the Korean War, with four of them losing their lives. This exhibition also highlights Latvia's historical struggles, having endured half a century of Soviet occupation before declaring independence in May 1990 and joining the UN the following year. Similar histories are shared by the other Baltic states, Estonia and Lithuania. During the final stages of World War II, around 120,000 Latvians fled their homeland to escape Soviet oppression, with many settling in the U.S., Canada, and the UK.

Latvians who settled in the U.S. were eager to integrate into their new society and many enlisted in the military. When the Korean War broke out, at least 14 young Latvians joined the U.S. forces, with four making the ultimate sacrifice. Many of these soldiers were recognized for their bravery and received various honors. The Latvian Embassy in South Korea expressed the desire to share the stories of these soldiers, stating, 'When Latvian soldiers found themselves unable to defend their homeland, they bravely fought for the ideals of freedom in another country's military.' They also noted that many Latvians likely saw reflections of their own homeland's struggles in Korea's situation.

On June 25, the 75th anniversary of the Korean War, Latvian Ambassador Janis Berzins visited the Freedom and Peace Museum and thanked Dongducheon Mayor Park Hyung-deok for hosting the exhibition. 경기도 동두천의 소요산 입구에 위치한 자유와 평화 박물관은 한국 전쟁에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 이곳은 유엔 깃발 아래에서 싸운 16개 전투 지원 국가(미국, 영국, 호주, 네덜란드, 캐나다, 뉴질랜드, 프랑스, 터키, 필리핀, 그리스, 태국, 남아프리카, 벨기에, 룩셈부르크, 콜롬비아, 에티오피아 포함)와 6개 의료 지원 국가(덴마크, 노르웨이, 스웨덴, 이탈리아, 독일, 인도)의 기여와 희생을 전시하고 있다. 전투 지원 국가의 깃발은 박물관 외부에 전시되어 있으며, 그들의 이름과 깃발은 전시물 곳곳에서 볼 수 있다.

6월에는 한국 전쟁 75주년을 기념하여 '한국 전쟁의 라트비아인들'이라는 특별 전시가 열렸다. 이 전시는 전투 국가 중에서 일반적으로 인식되지 않는 나라에 초점을 맞추었다. 라트비아는 에스토니아와 리투아니아와 함께 발트 3국 중 하나로 많은 한국인에게 알려져 있지만, 한국 전쟁에 참여한 역사에 대해서는 잘 알려져 있지 않다. 이 전시는 한국인들에게 라트비아의 참여에 대해 알리기 위한 목적이었다. 라트비아 대사관, 라트비아 전쟁 박물관, 한국 보훈처가 공동으로 주최하였으며, 동두천시가 장소를 제공하였다.

2층의 주요 전시 홀에서는 미국으로 이민하여 유엔 깃발 아래 한국 전쟁에 참전한 젊은 라트비아인들의 이야기를 담은 패널이 전시되어 있다. 패널의 디자인은 라트비아 국기의 색상을 반영하며, 군복을 입은 군인들의 이름과 행동이 담겨 있다. 주목할 만한 인물 중 한 명은 1952년 21세의 나이에 강원도 양구에서 전투에서 두각을 나타낸 아이바르스 칼리스 살레니엑스이다. 그는 동료를 구하기 위해 수류탄에 몸을 던져 생명을 희생하였다. 또 다른 군인인 야니스 크루미니쉬는 22세에 경기도 연천의 '포차프 언덕' 전투에서 부상을 당하고, 이후 정찰에 자원하여 결국 생명을 잃었다.

이 전시는 한국 전쟁에서 사망한 다른 라트비아 군인들, 즉 루돌프 리에파, 브루노 글라제르, 레오딘스 오졸리니시, 구나르스 스톱니에크스, 비스만디스 망굴리스를 기리기도 한다. 한국 전쟁 동안 총 14명의 라트비아 군인이 미국 군대에서 복무하였으며, 그 중 4명이 생명을 잃었다. 이 전시는 또한 라트비아의 역사적 투쟁을 강조하며, 1990년 5월 독립을 선언하고 다음 해 유엔에 가입하기 전까지 50년간 소련 점령을 견뎌온 역사를 다룬다. 에스토니아와 리투아니아와 같은 다른 발트 국가들도 유사한 역사를 공유하고 있다. 제2차 세계 대전의 마지막 단계에서 약 12만 명의 라트비아인이 소련의 억압을 피하기 위해 고향을 떠났으며, 많은 이들이 미국, 캐나다, 영국에 정착하였다.

미국에 정착한 라트비아인들은 새로운 사회에 통합되기를 열망하였고, 많은 이들이 군에 입대하였다. 한국 전쟁이 발발하자 최소 14명의 젊은 라트비아인이 미국 군대에 합류하였고, 그 중 4명이 궁극적인 희생을 치렀다. 이 군인들 중 많은 이들이 용감함을 인정받아 다양한 영예를 받았다. 한국의 라트비아 대사관은 이 군인들의 이야기를 나누고 싶다는 의사를 표명하며, '라트비아 군인들이 고향을 방어할 수 없게 되었을 때, 그들은 다른 나라의 군대에서 자유의 이상을 위해 용감히 싸웠다.'고 말했다. 또한 많은 라트비아인들이 한국의 상황에서 자신의 고향의 투쟁을 반영했을 것이라고 언급하였다.

6월 25일, 한국 전쟁 75주년을 맞아 라트비아 대사 야니스 베르진스가 자유와 평화 박물관을 방문하고 전시회를 주최한 동두천 시장 박형덕에게 감사를 표하였다. 베르진스 대사는 '라트비아는 소련 점령 하에 고향에서 자유, 민주주의, 법치주의를 위해 싸웠으며, 우리는 현재 러시아의 침략에 맞서 우크라이나를 지원하는 국제 연대의 일원이 되었다. 모든 국가는 억압과 침략 없이 평화롭게 자유를 누릴 자격이 있다.'고 말했다.

Actress Kim Nam-joo brought laughter to the latest episode of SBS's variety show, My Little Old Boy (미운 우리 새끼), where she candidly shared amusing anecdotes about her husband, Kim Seung-woo, with whom she has been married for 20 years.

He said he bought me flowers that won’t wilt, but after 20 years, he still doesn’t know my taste." She added, "I do like gold, but I prefer fresh flowers," which elicited laughter from the studio, especially when the other cast members chimed in, saying, "Cash is better than gold!" 

The episode also highlighted Kim Seung-woo's jealous side. Kim Nam-joo mentioned that her husband still sneaks away quietly whenever she has romantic or kissing scenes in dramas, refusing to watch them. She recalled how he particularly disliked her passionate scenes in the drama Misty (미스티). 

In a funny twist, she shared that her husband once asked for a kissing scene to be reshot because he found it awkward. When asked if she thought his jealousy was cute, she firmly replied, "No, I don’t understand it. Acting is just acting!" This comment sent the studio into fits of laughter. 

Recently, Kim Nam-joo made headlines by taking on her first solo variety show after 32 years in the industry, showcasing her luxurious home in Samseong-dong alongside her husband. Notably, young trot singer Kim Da-hyun (김다현) and her father, Kim Bong-gon (김봉곤), appeared on the show to express their frustration after a fake news video claiming Kim Da-hyun's death circulated on YouTube. A fan even mourned her supposed passing, prompting Kim Da-hyun's team to finally acknowledge the existence of the rumor.

Even more shocking is that Kim Bong-gon had previously been the target of similar death rumors before his daughter. Their experiences are just the tip of the iceberg. Actress Shin Ae-ra (신애라) also had to post a video on social media declaring, "I am alive" to dispel the rumors.

The source of these rumors has been traced back to YouTube, where channels dedicated to celebrity death hoaxes have proliferated, with over 150 confirmed cases of such misinformation. Fans often leave condolence messages on these videos, leading to bizarre situations where the celebrities themselves have to confirm their survival, as seen with actors Go Hyun-jung (고현정), Lee Si-young (이시영), and Jang Dong-gun (장동건).

Some celebrities have even suffered financial repercussions. Singer Tae Jin-ah (태진아) recounted a bewildering incident where an event organizer canceled his appearance, believing he had actually died after viewing a death hoax video. He expressed his anger, stating, "I have died multiple times. They say Sunwoo Yongnyeo (선우용녀) is dead, and so are Lee Soon-jae (이순재) and Nam Jin (남진). This needs to be eradicated completely."

The situation has escalated with the use of AI technology to generate these malicious rumors indiscriminately. Unverified information, sensational headlines, and malicious content are transforming living celebrities into deceased figures.

In response, the producers of 'Curious Story Y' stated, "These fake death videos have crossed the line. To those hiding behind these false videos, know that you are committing a serious crime by trampling on someone's life, and your identity will soon be revealed." They emphasized that reporting these videos is the best course of action.

이러한 소문의 출처는 유튜브로 거슬러 올라가며, 연예인 죽음 괴담에 전념하는 채널들이 급증하여 150건 이상의 확인된 잘못된 정보가 존재한다. 팬들은 종종 이러한 영상에 애도 메시지를 남기며, 그로 인해 연예인들이 자신의 생존을 확인해야 하는 기이한 상황이 발생하고 있다. 이는 배우 고현정(고현정), 이시영(이시영), 장동건(장동건)과 같은 사례에서 볼 수 있다.

일부 연예인들은 심지어 재정적 피해를 입기도 했다. 가수 태진아(태진아)는 한 이벤트 주최자가 그의 출연을 취소한 황당한 사건을 회상하며, 죽음 괴담 영상을 보고 그가 실제로 죽었다고 믿었다고 밝혔다. 그는 "나는 여러 번 죽었다. 선우용녀(선우용녀)가 죽었다고 하고, 이순재(이순재)와 남진(남진)도 마찬가지다. 이것은 완전히 근절되어야 한다"고 분노를 표출했다.

이에 '호기심 많은 이야기 Y'의 제작진은 "이러한 가짜 죽음 영상은 선을 넘었다. 이러한 허위 영상 뒤에 숨어 있는 사람들에게, 누군가의 삶을 짓밟음으로써 심각한 범죄를 저지르고 있다는 것을 알아야 하며, 당신의 신원은 곧 드러날 것"이라고 밝혔다. 그들은 이러한 영상을 신고하는 것이 최선의 조치라고 강조했다.
