BOYNEXTDOOR Achieves Million-Seller Status with New Album 'No Genre'

BOYNEXTDOOR's latest mini-album, 'No Genre', released on May 13, has surpassed 1 million copies sold just five days after its launch, officially marking them as million-sellers. According to Hanteo Chart on May 18, the album, which includes members Seongho, Riu, Myungjae-hyun, Taesan, Ihan, and Unhak, has recorded a total of 1,074,316 copies sold as of May 17, including all three versions of the album.
This impressive figure significantly exceeds the first-week sales of their previous mini-album, '19.99', which sold 759,156 copies. Given their rising popularity with each live performance and music broadcast, further increases in album sales are anticipated.
BOYNEXTDOOR has been on a remarkable upward trajectory, consistently achieving career highs with each release. Their debut single sold approximately 110,000 copies, while their first and second mini-albums sold around 450,000 and 530,000 copies, respectively, showcasing a steady growth pattern.
Their third mini-album, '19.99', made its mark by entering the Billboard 200 chart at number 40 on September 28, 2024, becoming BOYNEXTDOOR's first million-seller, which took over a month and a half to reach that milestone.
The new album 'No Genre' has received a warm reception, with both physical and digital sales performing strongly. The title track, 'I Feel Good', quickly climbed to the top of Melon's 'Top 100' chart the day after its release. Alongside their digital single '오늘만 I LOVE YOU', released in January, the group is enjoying dual popularity.
Internationally, 'No Genre' has also made waves, topping Japan's Oricon Daily Album Ranking for two consecutive days (May 14-15) and featuring prominently on QQ Music's 'Rising Chart' in China, signaling a strong commercial performance.
Since their debut, BOYNEXTDOOR has actively participated in songwriting, infusing their unique emotions into their music, which resonates with listeners as 'life-closely music'. Their engaging live performances, characterized by handheld microphones and witty choreography, along with a diverse musical spectrum, have fueled their rising popularity.
The chemistry among the members is another factor contributing to their success, with their original content series like 'WHAT? DOOR!' and 'WITH BOYNEXTDOOR' garnering over a million views on YouTube for some episodes.
