Bong Joon-ho's 'Mickey 17' Premieres to Rave Reviews in London

The international buzz surrounding Bong Joon-ho's latest film, 'Mickey 17', is palpable following its premiere in London on February 13. The film tells the unpredictable story of 'Mickey', an expendable worker who faces his 17th death, only to have 'Mickey 18' printed, believing the original has perished. This marks Bong's first global release in six years since his Academy Award-winning film 'Parasite'. 'Mickey 17' is set to debut at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival on February 15.

Critics who attended the premiere have showered 'Mickey 17' with praise. Cultural critic and screenwriter Karen Han remarked, "'Mickey 17' was worth the wait. It was fun, strange, and beautiful." Eric Davis, managing director of the U.S. ticketing site Fandango, described the first half as "incredible, entertaining, violent, and endearing, concluding in a powerful and timely manner, with an outstanding cast."

The Nerds of Color stated, "Bong Joon-ho has done it again! 'Mickey 17' is awe-inspiring and delightful, possibly his most ambitious film to date." Adam McKay, known for directing Oscar-nominated films like 'The Big Short' and 'Don't Look Up', called it a "perfect allegory for the hellish state of capitalism we find ourselves in."

With a star-studded cast including Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo, anticipation is high for 'Mickey 17', which will be released in South Korea on February 28.
