BoA Donates 100 Million Won to Help Orthopedic Patients

Renowned singer BoA has made a generous donation of 100 million won to the orthopedic department of Samsung Medical Center. Her agency, SM Entertainment, announced on July 30, 2025, that the funds will be used to assist orthopedic patients who face financial difficulties in accessing non-covered treatments.
Recently, BoA underwent surgery for acute osteonecrosis, a condition where blood supply to the bones is disrupted, leading to the death of bone tissue. This condition typically affects areas such as the upper thigh bone, upper arm, shoulder, knee, and spine. Following medical advice to avoid strenuous physical activity, she canceled her solo concert scheduled for August, which was set to celebrate her 25th debut anniversary.
BoA decided to make this donation in hopes of providing some relief to others experiencing similar health issues. Previously, she contributed 100 million won to support the independence of youth nearing the end of their protective care, and on Children's Day, she donated 50 million won to treat pediatric cancer patients at Asan Medical Center in Seoul. BoA is also a member of the Honor Society and the Women’s Honor Society.
In addition to her philanthropic efforts, BoA is set to release her 11th studio album, titled Crazier (크레이지어), on August 4, 2025, marking her 25th anniversary in the music industry.
