BLACKPINK's Jennie Turns Heads at Incheon Airport with Unique Footwear

Jennie, a member of the popular K-pop group BLACKPINK, has sparked a buzz online after being spotted at Incheon International Airport wearing a pair of uniquely designed shoes. On July 11, she departed for Los Angeles as part of the group's world tour. Her outfit featured a crochet knit vest in white and sky blue, paired with a red bralette and gray sweatpants.
What caught the most attention, however, was her white toe-shaped footwear. Netizens shared a variety of reactions, with comments ranging from nostalgia for 'dad's athlete's foot socks' to concerns about the heat of the asphalt, and even remarks on the shoes' thin soles that made them look like she was only wearing socks. Some found them comfortable, while others deemed them perplexing.
The shoes Jennie wore are the 'FiveFingers' by Vibram, an Italian footwear company that launched this model in 2006. Designed to allow each toe to fit into its own compartment, these shoes are lightweight and flexible, providing a barefoot-like experience. They are popular among activity enthusiasts for both walking and indoor workouts, and they also offer protective features. In 2007, TIME magazine recognized them as one of the best inventions in health.
The specific model Jennie wore is priced around 140,000 KRW on the official website but is currently sold out. Other celebrities, including singer Lee Hyori and actress Shin Min-a, have also been seen wearing FiveFingers while out for walks.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is currently on their world tour titled 'Deadline,' which includes 31 performances across 16 cities. After a successful first show in Goyang, they will continue their tour, hitting cities like Chicago, Toronto, New York, Paris, Milan, Barcelona, London, Kaohsiung, Bangkok, Jakarta, Bulacan, Singapore, Tokyo, and Hong Kong to connect with their global fanbase.
