BLACKPINK Kicks Off World Tour 'DEADLINE' in Goyang

BLACKPINK has officially launched their world tour, 'BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR 'DEADLINE' IN GOYANG,' at the Goyang Sports Complex in Goyang, South Korea, on July 5-6, marking their return to the stage after nearly two years. This tour comes nearly 1 year and 10 months after their record-breaking concert series, [BORN PINK], which attracted over 1.8 million fans. The group made history as the first K-pop girl group to perform solo at the Goyang Sports Complex, drawing an impressive audience of 78,000 over the two days, solidifying their status as global superstars.
The opening concert of the 'DEADLINE' tour showcased BLACKPINK's musical journey while introducing fresh elements. The band featured a new lineup of top-tier musicians and dancers who have collaborated with global icons like Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, delivering an immersive sound experience with large screens and optimized acoustics.
The performance kicked off with a powerful rendition of 'Kill This Love,' followed by hits like 'Pink Venom,' 'How You Like That,' '불장난 (Playing with Fire),' and 'Shut Down,' setting a high-energy tone for the event. The members greeted the audience, saying, "Welcome to 'BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR 'DEADLINE' IN GOYANG.' Since it's the second day, we can have even more fun!"
During the 'Pretty Savage' stage, they delivered a captivating performance using props, and led the crowd in a sing-along for 'Don’t Know What To Do.' They also performed '휘파람 (Whistle),' 'STAY,' and 'Lovesick Girls,' showcasing their stunning dance moves and powerful vocals.
A highlight of the concert was the debut of their new song '뛰어 (JUMP),' which they had not performed in 2 years and 8 months. Before the performance, the members encouraged the audience, saying, "We have a new song that you can hear first here in Goyang. It's a fun song, so we hope you enjoy it!"
In addition to group performances, each member showcased their solo work, highlighting their individual charms. Jisoo captivated the audience with 'earthquake' and 'Your Love,' while Lisa impressed with her powerful rap in 'New Woman' and 'Rockstar.' Jennie commanded the stage with 'Mantra,' 'with the IE (way up),' and 'like JENNIE,' while Rosé enhanced the emotional experience with her introspective introductions before performing '3AM' and 'toxic till the end.' The concert concluded with 'APT.,' where a fan was invited on stage to sing along, creating a heartwarming moment.
Jisoo expressed her excitement about the solo stages, saying, "We were thrilled to show our diverse colors as solo artists during this tour. The highlight was definitely our new song. What did you think of 'JUMP'? It's so addictive! It will be released soon, so please listen to it and show it love!"
Lisa added, "I was really nervous since yesterday, and I still am. It’s so great to see everyone having fun with us!" Jennie expressed gratitude for the audience's support, saying, "Thank you for coming to our first stadium tour in Goyang. It’s bittersweet to leave for our world tour after today, but I hope we can meet again soon."
Additionally, YG Entertainment and BLACKPINK are committed to sustainability during the 'DEADLINE' tour. They are promoting eco-friendly initiatives, including 'BLACKPINK WATER' in paper packaging and a 'YOUR GREEN STEP' booth to measure carbon emissions from audience travel and accommodation, as well as raising awareness about resource recycling.
With a successful start to their world tour in Goyang, BLACKPINK is set to perform in 16 cities across the globe, including Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, New York, Paris, Milan, Barcelona, London, Kaohsiung, Bangkok, Jakarta, Bulacan, Singapore, Tokyo, and Hong Kong, totaling 31 shows.
