BBGIRLS' Yuna Reveals the Story Behind Their Name Change

On December 25, the online channel 'No Backing Down with Tak Jae-hoon' featured a video titled 'BBGIRLS Eunji and Yuna, the Royal Eye and Short Hair Queen Who Took the Military President Title from Their Juniors.' During the episode, Tak Jae-hoon questioned the new name 'BBGIRLS,' suggesting it felt like a lazy abbreviation of 'Brave Girls.' Yuna responded, explaining, 'If we use a completely different name, would people really not recognize us?'

BBGIRLS previously changed their name when they transitioned from their former agency, which held the trademark for 'Brave Girls,' to a new company. Fans expressed their support, saying things like, 'BBGIRLS, don’t fall apart; there are many veterans and civil defense members behind you,' and 'I’m looking forward to the new song.'

Meanwhile, their agency GLG announced on December 12 that BBGIRLS (민영, 은지, 유나) will be making a comeback on January 15, 2025. This marks their first release since the double single 'ONE MORE TIME' in 2023, and it will be their first album since joining GLG.

Debuting in 2011 as Brave Girls, the group has released various albums, including '변했어,' 'HIGH HEELS,' and '운전만해 (We Ride).' They gained immense popularity with their hits 'Rollin'' and '운전만해,' which achieved remarkable chart success. After rebranding as BBGIRLS in 2023, they released 'ONE MORE TIME' and have continued to engage with fans through various entertainment programs and YouTube channels.
