Baseball Star Yang Jun-hyuk Welcomes First Daughter

Former baseball player Yang Jun-hyuk has shared the joyous moment of welcoming his first daughter. On December 13, a video titled "I Have Become a Father" was uploaded to his YouTube channel, 'Yangshin Yang Jun-hyuk'.

On December 11, his wife Park Hyun-sun visited the hospital for a check-up. Yang Jun-hyuk expressed his excitement, noting that the original due date was January 1, but the baby could arrive any day now. He asked Park Hyun-sun how she felt about the situation.

Park Hyun-sun recalled a conversation from the previous week where she jokingly asked if she might give birth during the next check-up. Although she was told not to worry, she had prepared baby clothes and handkerchiefs just in case. However, she hesitated to pack a full delivery bag, fearing it might prompt an early arrival.

Yang Jun-hyuk reassured her, saying he could bring anything she needed later, but he reminded her that they were at the hospital for a check-up and the baby could come at any moment. Park Hyun-sun expressed her disappointment, mentioning plans with friends and a Christmas party that she would miss.

The doctor suggested that due to fluctuating blood pressure, it might be best to proceed with the delivery while the mother was stable. Park Hyun-sun worried about being unprepared, but the doctor reassured her that she wouldn’t need much immediately after the surgery, as the first couple of hours would be critical for monitoring her condition.

Ultimately, they decided to go ahead with the delivery that day, and Park Hyun-sun was taken to the operating room. After the procedure, Yang Jun-hyuk joyfully announced, "I have finally become a father! The delivery went well, and I’m going to see my baby now. I’m so happy to have my first child in my mid-50s."

When he met his daughter, he remarked that she resembled him, repeatedly saying, "She’s beautiful. She’s cute," showcasing his proud fatherly side.

Yang Jun-hyuk married Park Hyun-sun, who is 19 years his junior, in 2021. He revealed the news of their impending parenthood during an appearance on SBS's 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 - You Are My Destiny' in August. Their daughter was born earlier than expected on December 11, prompting an outpouring of congratulations.
