Baek Ji-young Shares Behind-the-Scenes Insights on New Music Video 'That's Right'

On December 15, Baek Ji-young appeared on SBS Power FM's 'Cultwo Show' to discuss her latest single '그래 맞아' (That's Right) and the accompanying music video. Celebrating her 25th anniversary in the music industry, Baek Ji-young highlighted that this title track represents her signature ballad style, referred to as '백발' (Baek Ji-young style), but differs from her previous works by being more composed and bold.
The song was composed and directed by Kangta, although Baek Ji-young clarified that she did not directly request his involvement; instead, the decision was made through a blind monitoring process at a song camp.
During the recording, Baek Ji-young became emotional when her daughter visited her. She explained, "The song is sad, but it felt warm to me. I was overwhelmed with gratitude seeing my daughter outside while recording this heartfelt song."
The music video, directed by renowned filmmaker Lee Eung-bok, known for his work on popular dramas like 'Descendants of the Sun', 'Goblin', and 'Mr. Sunshine', marks his debut in music video direction. Interestingly, the title '그래 맞아' was also created by Lee, while the original title was 'Pencil', written by Kangta.
Additionally, the music video has garnered attention due to dating rumors between the lead actors Nana and Chae Jong-seok. Baek Ji-young mentioned that they created three teaser versions, including a playful one titled '100 Kisses', which compiles all the kissing scenes. Fans can check out this teaser on her Instagram account.
Baek Ji-young also revealed that she has a dance track ready but is currently searching for a male feature artist. She humorously noted that while she had previously worked with Taecyeon, she feels the need to find someone new for this project. Kim Tae-kyun suggested Shownu from MONSTA X, which brought a smile to Baek Ji-young's face.
Listeners can catch 'Cultwo Show' every day from 2 PM to 4 PM on SBS Power FM 107.7MHz, and it is also available as a video radio on their official YouTube channel 'Erao'.
