Baek In-hyuk and Kim Ji-eun's Intriguing Connection in 'Check-In Hanyang'

The new Channel A weekend drama, Check-In Hanyang (체크인 한양), premiered on December 21, 2024, captivating viewers with the story of Lee Eun (played by Baek In-hyuk) and Hong Deok-soo (played by Kim Ji-eun) as they enter the world of Yongcheonru.

In the first episode, Lee Eun, a member of the Muyeong army, confronts Cheonmakdong (played by Kim Ui-sung) with a knife, declaring, "I also wish to enter Yongcheonru to learn the ghostly arts of commerce." Cheonmakdong responds, emphasizing that even if he enters, he must start as a mere trainee, stating, "It is the principle that anyone, regardless of status or background, must begin from the bottom and survive to the end. Are you okay with that?"

Lee Eun agrees, prompting Cheonmakdong to remark on his humility, before leaving. Later, Lee Eun seeks his father's permission to enter Yongcheonru. His powerless father reveals that the key to a safe containing important financial documents is split into two parts, with one half located in Yongcheonru, instructing Lee Eun to retrieve it.

Determined to help his father, Lee Eun becomes a trainee at Yongcheonru, where he unexpectedly encounters Hong Deok-soo again. Their first meeting had been tense, with Lee Eun having previously threatened Hong Deok-soo with a knife due to a misunderstanding involving Hongpyo.

While changing into his trainee uniform, Lee Eun discovers something resembling a key hidden in Hong Deok-soo's clothing, leading to a scuffle between them. Lee Eun insists, "You just need to show me what's under your inner garment," while Cheon Jun-hwa (played by Jung Geon-joo) intervenes, questioning why they would want to see each other's chests. Hong Deok-soo retorts, calling Lee Eun a "filthy bastard."
