Bae Seung-jae and Kim Da-young Announce Marriage Without Ceremony

Former SBS announcer Bae Seung-jae and current SBS announcer Kim Da-young are set to begin their married life by filing for marriage without holding a wedding ceremony. The couple announced their engagement on February 7, having met while participating in the SBS show 'Goal Diggers' (골 때리는 그녀들), where their relationship blossomed into romance.

Bae Seung-jae's agency, SM C&C, confirmed that the couple will officially tie the knot in May after two years of dating. They expressed their desire to forgo traditional wedding ceremonies, opting instead for a quiet family dinner to celebrate their union. The agency requested understanding regarding the couple's privacy, stating that they would not disclose further details about their marriage.

The news generated significant attention, prompting Bae Seung-jae to address listeners during a live broadcast of SBS Radio Power FM's 'Bae Seung-jae's Ten' (배성재의 텐) later that day. He expressed gratitude to those who congratulated them and apologized to anyone who felt upset by the announcement. He shared that both families were supportive of their decision to marry without a formal ceremony, humorously acknowledging the unexpected connection formed through 'Goal Diggers.'

When asked about their honeymoon plans, Bae Seung-jae mentioned that they do intend to travel, teasing listeners about who the special DJ would be during his absence.

Simultaneously, Kim Da-young shared her thoughts on social media, reflecting on their cautious yet beautiful relationship. She noted that if not for their public professions and overlapping environments, they might have enjoyed a more private courtship. She emphasized the importance of finding a way to be together that is considerate of everyone involved, stating that they would not hold a formal ceremony but would gather with immediate family for a meal. She also apologized for not being able to personally inform friends and acquaintances about their marriage due to sensitive circumstances, expressing that they would appreciate heartfelt congratulations in spirit.

Bae Seung-jae began his career as an announcer with KBS in 2005 before moving to SBS in 2006, where he primarily covered sports and soccer. After leaving SBS in 2021, he has continued to work as a freelance broadcaster while maintaining his previous programs. Kim Da-young, who joined SBS in 2021 after working at MBC and Busan MBC, currently serves as a weekday anchor for 'SBS 8 News' and appears on 'Kim Young-chul's Power FM' and 'Goal Diggers.'
