Bae Nara Joins Cast of Upcoming Drama '우주메리미'
Actress Bae Nara is set to star in the new SBS drama '우주메리미' (Cosmic Marry Me). On May 14, her agency, YY Entertainment, announced that she has been cast and is preparing to begin filming. Scheduled to air in the second half of 2025, '우주메리미' is directed by Song Hyun-wook and written by Lee Ha-na, produced by Samhwa Networks Studio S. The romantic comedy follows a sweet yet intense 90-day survival game between two individuals vying for a luxurious newlywed home. Previously, the casting of renowned romantic comedy actors Choi Woo-shik and Jung So-min has generated significant anticipation for the series.
In the drama, Bae Nara will portray Baek Sang-hyun, a character filled with ambition yet possessing a relatable charm. Baek Sang-hyun aspires to escape a life of poverty and integrate into the upper class, while keeping an eye on the fake couple, Kim Woo-joo (played by Choi Woo-shik) and Yu Me-ri (played by Jung So-min). This role marks Bae Nara's first venture into the romantic comedy genre, promising to showcase a different side of her acting skills that fans have yet to see.
Bae Nara made a strong impression on audiences with her role in the Netflix original series 'D.P. Season 2'. She further solidified her unique acting style as a captivating villain in 'Weak Hero Class 2'. Currently, she is also starring as Han Seon-woo, a rival to Kang Ha-neul's character in the Genie TV original series 'Your Taste'.
