The K-pop group BABYMONSTER is making waves with their debut title track 'DRIP', soaring in both music charts and YouTube popularity. According to their agency, YG Entertainment, the group's performance video from the 'Gayo Daejeon' aired on SBS's official YouTube channel on December 25 has surpassed 6.86 million views, the highest among all artists who performed that day.
The video garnered 1.5 million views within just one day and reached 5 million views in two weeks, indicating a strong upward trend in popularity. Over the next 11 days, it saw an explosive increase of over 1.86 million views, setting a new record for the highest view count.
Featuring legendary YG artists like G-Dragon and 2NE1, as well as top groups such as NCT, Stray Kids, (G)I-DLE, ITZY, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, and aespa, BABYMONSTER's achievement of the highest view count for their 'Gayo Daejeon' stage is remarkable, showcasing their status as a 'monster rookie' right from their debut year-end performance.
In addition to the 'Gayo Daejeon' video, BABYMONSTER boasts significant influence on YouTube. Despite being less than a year since their official debut, their channel has amassed 8.14 million subscribers and over 3.6 billion cumulative views, solidifying their position as the next 'YouTube Queen'.
Their content consistently attracts millions of views, reflecting the intense interest from global fans, particularly for videos showcasing their impressive live performance skills. Notably, their live band performance of 'SHEESH' on 'It's Live' achieved the highest views (17 million) among all videos on that channel.
With 'DRIP', BABYMONSTER continues to climb the domestic music charts, demonstrating remarkable reverse power. Even two months post-release, they have reached 9th place on Melon HOT100, 15th on TOP100, and 6th on Bugs, repeatedly breaking their own records.
BABYMONSTER is set to kick off their first world tour with a solo concert titled '2025 BABYMONSTER 1st WORLD TOUR IN SEOUL' at the KSPO DOME in Seoul on January 25 and 26.
