Baby V.O.X Sparks Hopes for Full Group Comeback
The iconic girl group Baby V.O.X has ignited hopes for a full group comeback. On December 27, during the KBS Joy special program '20th Century Hit Song,' members Kim I-ji (김이지) and Lee Hee-jin (이희진) appeared as guests. The show featured a segment titled 'Year-End Special: Would You Come Back? Hopeful Idol Hit Songs,' where Baby V.O.X claimed the top spot.
Celebrating their win, Kim I-ji and Lee Hee-jin performed their hit song 'Get Up' and reminisced about their first victory against Country Kkokko. Kim I-ji reflected on her time as the center for the song, stating, "I was chosen as the center because my image matched the concept of 'Get Up,' and I'm glad the album was successful." Lee Hee-jin shared her experience as the youngest member, noting the challenges they faced compared to other girl groups, saying, "While Kim I-ji and Shim Eun-jin had a natural girl crush and sexy appeal, it was harder for us."
Baby V.O.X, known for their unique girl crush concept that set them apart from other girl groups, even received land as a gift from the President of Mongolia, which sparked some controversy. Lee Hee-jin clarified, "We were scammed; it was land belonging to the country, so we couldn't actually own it."
Expressing their gratitude for the recognition, Lee Hee-jin said, "We are happy to be number one and thankful for the support." Kim I-ji added, "As the oldest member, I will try to persuade the others to work on a new album together."
Other groups featured in the rankings included Milk, Sugar, Eagle Five, Cleo, Five, Chakra, One Time, and Shap.
