Baby V.O.X Reunites After 14 Years, Dismisses Feud Rumors at KBS Gayo Daechukje

The iconic girl group Baby V.O.X made a triumphant return to the stage after 14 years, putting to rest any rumors of discord among its members. The reunion took place on December 20 at the '2024 KBS Gayo Daechukje Global Festival' held at KINTEX in Ilsan, where a diverse lineup of artists entertained fans across generations with special performances.
This year's festival embraced the theme of 'Infinity,' showcasing K-pop musicians from different eras coming together through music. Among the highlights was Baby V.O.X, who debuted in 1997 and gained immense popularity after member Yoon Eun-hye joined during their third album in 1999, captivating audiences with their unique girl crush appeal.
Following their disbandment in 2006, the members pursued individual paths but maintained their friendship for over two decades. However, speculation about a rift arose this year when the remaining members appeared on various entertainment shows without Yoon Eun-hye. Her team later clarified that she was unable to attend due to prior commitments.
During their performance at the Gayo Daechukje, Baby V.O.X evoked nostalgia with their stunning visuals and energetic stage presence. They kicked off their set with 'Get Up,' showcasing their timeless beauty and powerful choreography. The group continued to thrill the audience with 'U-Oh!' and concluded with a dynamic collaboration on 'Killer' alongside Kiss of Life.
In a post-performance interview, member Kim I-ji shared, "We have all been living our lives diligently. I’ve become a mother of two, and my daughter is a huge fan of IVE. I’m grateful for this opportunity to be together again." Lee Hee-jin added, "I’m currently performing in a musical and doing theater, so I hope many will come to see me."
When asked about their rehearsal experience, Yoon Eun-hye expressed, "I felt like I watched the performance over and over for two weeks. But now, I want to see it again; it feels strange not to. I’m so happy to have had this chance to spend time with the members."
Kan Mi-yeon remarked, "Thanks to the Gayo Daechukje, we had such a wonderful time crying, laughing, and dancing together. I’m really grateful," while Shim Eun-jin praised her fellow members, saying, "You all worked so hard, and it must have been challenging to come together after so long. Thank you, and I love you all."
With visuals and performances that rival their prime, Baby V.O.X has sparked a wave of requests from fans for them to resume activities. Many are now eagerly anticipating another chance to see the full group perform together.
