Arrest Warrant Issued for Kim Mo, Alleged Butler of Kim Geon-hee Amid Ongoing Investigation

On July 16, 2025, a court in South Korea issued an arrest warrant for a 48-year-old man known as Kim Mo, who is referred to as the butler of Kim Geon-hee, the wife of former President Yoon Suk-yeol. The special investigation team led by Min Jung-ki announced the warrant, stating that there are concerns that Kim Mo may not comply with requests to appear before investigators without valid reasons.
Kim Mo is under suspicion for his involvement with IMS Mobility, an IT company formerly known as BeMyCar, which allegedly received questionable investments from large corporations and financial institutions in 2023. He reportedly met Kim Geon-hee while attending graduate school in 2010 and played a role in establishing IMS Mobility in 2013. He served as a director of the company from June 2018 until March 2021.
This has led to speculation that Kim Geon-hee may have been involved in Kim Mo's financial gains. After the impeachment of former President Yoon Suk-yeol in April, Kim Mo left for Vietnam and has since failed to respond to summons from the special investigation team. Consequently, the team filed for an arrest warrant against him on July 15, citing charges of breach of trust and other allegations.
