Apple TV+ Announces New K-Pop Competition Series 'KPOPPED'

Apple TV+ has confirmed the production of a new eight-episode singing competition series titled 'KPOPPED' (working title). The show will be executive produced by Lionel Richie and will feature global superstar Psy, known for his hit 'Gangnam Style' that brought K-Pop to the world stage, alongside three-time Grammy winner Megan Thee Stallion, famous for her track 'Savage'. Each episode of 'KPOPPED' will showcase international stars reinterpreting their signature songs and collaborating with top K-Pop idols to deliver spectacular performances. The ultimate winner of 'KPOPPED' will be determined by audience votes during a live concert in Seoul. The series will also see contributions from CJ ENM's Shin Hyung-kwan, head of music content, and Hong Jun-ki, head of strategic initiatives, alongside producers from Eureka Productions, including Chris Colvenor, Paul Franklin, Wes Denning, David Tobals, and Bruce Eskowitz. Apple TV+ offers a wide range of premium content, including acclaimed dramas, comedy series, films, groundbreaking documentaries, and family-friendly shows, all available on various screens. Launched on November 1, 2019, Apple TV+ is the first streaming service to exclusively provide original content, rapidly gaining numerous awards and accolades, including 538 wins and 2,553 nominations, with notable titles like the Emmy-winning comedy series 'Ted Lasso'.
