Anticipation Builds for AAA 2024: Who Will Take Home the Top Singer Award?

As the 9th Asia Artist Awards (AAA 2024) approaches, excitement is mounting over who will win the prestigious Top Singer award. Scheduled for December 27 at the IMPACT Challenger Hall 1-2 in Bangkok, Thailand, the event will feature a star-studded lineup that has fans around the world buzzing.

Hosted by Ryu Jun-yeol, Jang Won-young, and Seong Han-bin, AAA 2024 will showcase performances from top K-pop artists including NewJeans, LE SSERAFIM, BIBI, SUHO, ZEROBASEONE, TONY YU, KISS OF LIFE, WHIB, BUS because of you i shine, DAY6, NCT 127, NCT WISH, QWER, TWS, WayV, and &TEAM, among others.

The actor category will see prominent figures such as Kim Min, Kim Soo-hyun, Kim Hye-yoon, Park Min-young, Byun Woo-seok, Ahn Bo-hyun, Jang Da-ah, Jo Yu-ri, Joo Won, Choi Bo-min, and SAKAGUCHI KENTARO, all of whom have made significant contributions to K-POP, K-DRAMA, and K-MOVIE this year.

K-pop continues to dominate the global music scene, and the competition for the Top Singer award is fiercer than ever.

# K-pop Legends Unite

NewJeans has made headlines this year with their debut single 'Supernatural' in June, becoming the fastest overseas artist to perform at Tokyo Dome in just 1 year and 11 months. Their track 'How Sweet' was ranked 35th in Rolling Stone's 'Best Songs of 2024', while 'Supernatural' was recognized as the best song of the year by The New York Times, a first for a K-pop song.

Having won both the Top Performance and Rookie of the Year awards at the 2022 AAA, and six awards including Top Singer and Top Song at the 2023 AAA, expectations are high for NewJeans this year.

LE SSERAFIM recently achieved the highest ranking among K-pop girl groups at 46th on Billboard's 2024 Year-End Charts for Global 200 Artists. Their mini-album and title track 'EASY' debuted at 99th on the Billboard Hot 100, followed by 'CRAZY' reaching 76th, marking a significant achievement for K-pop girl groups this year.

DAY6 has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity, with their title track 'Welcome to the Show' topping major domestic charts upon release. Their song 'HAPPY' also made a remarkable comeback, reaching the top of Melon's monthly chart in September, alongside several other hits solidifying their status in the industry.

NCT 127, known for their exceptional performances, will reunite with local fans at AAA 2024 after nearly a year. Their sixth studio album 'WALK' was named one of Billboard's 'Best K-pop Albums of 2024', receiving acclaim from major media outlets. They are set to perform a medley of hits including 'Hero', 'Racing', and 'Fact Check', raising anticipation among global fans.

TWS has proven their popularity with the track 'Our First Meeting Didn't Go as Planned', which ranked 6th in YouTube's Global Culture and Trends Report, making them the only K-pop boy group in the top rankings.

The Asia Artist Awards (AAA) is the first integrated awards ceremony in Korea that honors both actors and singers, presenting awards for Top Singer, Top Album, Top Song, Top Stage, and Top Performance. With such a competitive lineup, all eyes are on who will take home the coveted trophy this year.
