Mackie also addressed the pressure of following in Chris Evans' footsteps, sharing, "When I read the script and saw that I would be the new Captain America, Chris was there to hug me and tell me I would do great. That was all I needed to hear. I didn’t feel burdened because Sam Wilson is a completely different character from Steve Rogers, and he will embark on a unique journey.
