An Ye-eun Unveils Endless Stories with New Single 'King Carp'

Singer An Ye-eun is ready to share her captivating narratives. On November 21 at 6 PM, she released her fourth EP titled 'Story Bundle' along with the music video for the title track 'King Carp' across various streaming platforms.

Returning after approximately one year and nine months since her last full album 'Easily Written Stories' released in February 2023, An Ye-eun presents her unique stories through the music she excels at.

The new EP 'Story Bundle' showcases An Ye-eun's distinctive musical world, which she has been developing by weaving together various tales. She participated in writing and composing all the tracks, demonstrating her musical growth by exploring different genres that resonate with her personal experiences.

The album features a range of songs, including 'Innae,' which reflects the emotions of a speaker reminiscing about a past love after a breakup; 'New Moon,' a folk piece that captures the speaker's loneliness under the new moon; 'That Love Was Not My Love,' which expresses the speaker's acceptance of love through rock metal sounds; and 'This Place Is Still Winter,' her first bossa nova track that conveys the sentiment of being the only one still in winter while everyone else enjoys spring.

The title track 'King Carp' is an electro-swing piece that tells the story of a carp that suddenly appears to share tales. An Ye-eun incorporates her own dream of a carp, giving it a storyteller persona, with the carp narrating the story. The catchy lyrics, including phrases like "Choose, choose, grab, grab," enhance the song's lively atmosphere.

"Whatever you want, just say one word / Love, farewell, adventure, death / Everything is here, just choose / Ah, my story is not mine, but things I've heard while wandering / Story, story."

The accompanying music video features An Ye-eun joyfully dancing through a palace and bustling market, creating a visual experience reminiscent of a historical drama.
