An Ye Eun Unveils New EP 'Story Bundle'

Singer-songwriter An Ye Eun is set to release her fourth EP titled '이야기 보따리' (Story Bundle) on November 21 at 6 PM KST across various music streaming platforms. This marks her return to the music scene nearly 1 year and 9 months after the release of her last full album, '쉽게 쓴 이야기' (Easily Written Stories) in February 2023.

In anticipation of the album launch, An Ye Eun has shared concept photos showcasing her transformation into a storyteller, traversing between royal palaces and bustling marketplaces, heightening excitement for her comeback. The new EP '이야기 보따리' features five unique stories encapsulated within a metaphorical bundle.

The album opens with the tale of the '잉어왕' (King Carp), a story set in the celestial lake of Baekdu Mountain, and concludes with an instrumental track titled '잉어왕 (Inst.)'. The narratives within '잉어왕' include '이내' (Inae), which reflects on love from a place of solitude; '그믐달' (New Moon), which projects the speaker's loneliness onto the new moon; '그 사랑은 내 사랑이 아니었음을' (That Love Was Not My Love), which expresses a calm acceptance of love; and '이곳은 아직 겨울이오' (This Place is Still Winter), depicting a sense of lingering winter while everyone else experiences spring.

The title track '잉어왕' adds a personal touch as it incorporates elements from An Ye Eun's own birth dream, where a carp plays a significant role, enhancing its uniqueness. The song combines an upbeat electro-swing sound with distinctive lyrics that describe the character of the King Carp, promising a captivating listening experience.

An Ye Eun's '이야기 보따리' is entirely composed of self-written songs, showcasing her artistic evolution. In the track '이내', she adopts a more understated vocal style, while '이곳은 아직 겨울이오' marks her first foray into the bossa nova genre. Additionally, the teaser for the music video features An Ye Eun performing synchronized choreography with dancers, raising anticipation for her live performances of '잉어왕'.
