Allegations Surface Regarding Late Actress Kim Sae-ron's Relationship with Kim Soo-hyun
On May 7, a press conference was held at the Space Share Samsung Station Center in Gangnam, Seoul, where the legal representative of the late actress Kim Sae-ron's family, attorney Bu Ji-seok from the law firm Bu-yu, and Kim Se-yeon from the Garoseoro Research Institute revealed shocking audio recordings. These recordings allegedly disclose details about Kim Sae-ron's relationship with actor Kim Soo-hyun, claiming they dated from middle school until their breakup in college.
During the press conference, Kim Se-yeon stated, "This audio was recorded on January 10, 2025, at a Starbucks in New Jersey, just a month before Kim Sae-ron's passing. It reveals the nature of her relationship with Kim Soo-hyun." In the recordings, Kim Sae-ron reportedly said, "I truly trust you. Please keep this confidential. I dated Soo-hyun oppa. I know it sounds crazy, but we started dating in middle school and broke up after entering college."
She further expressed feelings of being used since middle school, stating, "I felt like I was being taken advantage of from a young age. I know how he treated me back then." Kim Sae-ron also mentioned an incident involving photos that made her uncomfortable, indicating a troubling dynamic in their relationship.
Kim Se-yeon criticized Kim Soo-hyun's behavior, claiming he has shown no remorse and has boasted about inappropriate actions with other female celebrities while dating Kim Sae-ron. He allegedly made derogatory comments about women, which the representative described as criminal behavior.
Kim Sae-ron was found deceased at her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on February 16. Following her funeral, her family claimed through the YouTube channel Garoseoro Research Institute that she and Kim Soo-hyun had been in a relationship for six years starting when she was 15. However, Kim Soo-hyun's side has denied these allegations, asserting that they never dated while she was a minor, and has filed a lawsuit seeking 12 billion KRW in damages against Kim Sae-ron's family and the research institute.
