Ailee and Choi Si-hoon Open Up About Rumors and Challenges

On April 15, the couple Ailee (에일리) and her husband Choi Si-hoon (최시훈) appeared as guests on tvN STORY's 'Kim Chang-ok Show 3' (김창옥쇼3). During the episode, Ailee shared her concerns about the impact of rumors on their lives, stating, "This might be a burden we have to carry for a lifetime. Since my husband is frequently exposed to media and online platforms, people tend to compare us or fabricate stories, leading to persistent rumors that hurt him deeply."

She continued, "My husband works very hard in various jobs, but people mistakenly think he is unemployed. He is not only an influencer but also has a job and works at a company. Despite his efforts, people only see me as the one working and supporting us financially, which is upsetting for him. It’s really frustrating for me to witness this, and I feel helpless."

Choi Si-hoon added, "After appearing on 'Single's Inferno' (솔로지옥), I faced a lot of rumors that undermined my hard work and made it very difficult for me. I didn’t want to engage in activities anymore. I wished people didn’t know me. But then I met my wife, and as our relationship became public, the attention returned, along with more rumors. I genuinely work hard, and it’s disheartening."

When asked by the panel how he copes with emotional pain, Choi Si-hoon explained, "Work and mental stress made me lose my expression and feel robotic. There were times I would sit alone at home for a long time, just trying to process my emotions in silence."

Ailee expressed her sorrow over her husband's struggles, saying, "If he hadn’t met me, he might not have had to deal with the scrutiny and pain from others. I feel so sorry for that. Yet, I’m grateful he chose me. It makes me emotional."

The couple is set to marry on April 20, 2025, after dating for about a year. They reportedly registered their marriage in August 2024.
