Ahn Jung-hwan Reveals Surprising Past as a Part-Time Worker in Yongsan

In the upcoming episode of Channel A's '선 넘은 패밀리' (Family That Crosses the Line), airing on May 22 at 8:10 PM, Ahn Jung-hwan shares a surprising revelation about his past, stating that he once worked part-time at a place called '투X리' in Yongsan during his childhood.

This episode features the 'French Family,' consisting of On Su-ji and Steffen, who return to celebrate the one-year anniversary of their Korean restaurant in Normandy. They set up a 'pop-up store' in a local market to test new Korean menu items.

The 'French Family' discusses the progress of their restaurant, which was the first Korean establishment in the Normandy region, and compares their current daily sales to their opening day. They proudly announce that they have been selected for '쁘띠 퓌떼,' a local restaurant evaluation by French journalists and writers. Ahn Jung-hwan expresses enthusiasm, suggesting, "Let’s open our own Korean restaurant too!" However, Lee Hye-won expresses her apprehension, saying, "I feel like I would be in the kitchen, and that worries me..."

Having successfully saved enough money over the past year to buy their own home, the 'French Family' agrees that they need a new challenge and decides to open a pop-up store nearby. They prepare to test new menu items, including spicy tteokbokki, hot dogs, and stir-fried sundae.

As the spicy tteokbokki and vibrant stir-fried sundae are served, Ahn Jung-hwan questions, "All the menu items are spicy; will that be okay?" Steffen responds, noting that there is a similar dish in France called 'boudin noir,' but he is unsure if the French will enjoy stir-fried sundae, admitting, "I don’t really like boudin noir myself."

Chris, representing the U.S. in the studio, reminisces about his part-time job selling sundae in Korea, recalling how strange it looked to him at first. Ahn Jung-hwan surprises everyone by revealing that he also worked part-time at a folk tavern in Yongsan, prompting Yoon Se-yoon to exclaim, "You worked part-time too?" Lee Hye-won adds that Ahn Jung-hwan also had a job peeling fruit, stating, "He peels fruit so well that when he brings back kiwis, it’s impressive!"

Meanwhile, as the 'French Family' actively promotes their pop-up store, hot dogs and tteokbokki fly off the shelves, but the stir-fried sundae struggles to sell, leaving everyone anxious. Will the 'French Family' manage to win over the local palate with their stir-fried sundae? Tune in to Channel A's '선 넘은 패밀리' (Family That Crosses the Line) on May 22 at 8:10 PM to find out.
