ADOR Takes Action Regarding NewJeans' Legal Notice: 'Respect Hani's Experience'

ADOR has initiated measures in response to the legal notice issued by its artist NewJeans. On November 27, ADOR stated, "The claims made by BELIF+ regarding the 'manager ignoring' incident are completely at odds with the testimony of NewJeans member Hani. Hani distinctly remembers that on May 27, a member of BELIF+ made comments suggesting 'ignore' or 'just pass by.' This occurred in a relatively brief moment, and it is excessively harsh to expect the victim to recall every detail of the situation to substantiate their claims."

The statement continued, "We at ADOR fully trust our artist's words and genuinely empathize with the distress Hani has experienced. We hope that BELIF+ will not take Hani's suffering lightly and will demonstrate mutual respect and sincerity in their response."

This announcement follows NewJeans' legal notice sent on November 13, which demanded the return of former CEO Min Hee-jin, an official apology from the manager who allegedly told Hani to be ignored, and a thorough investigation into internal documents at HYBE. The members also indicated that if their demands were not addressed by the 14th, they would terminate their exclusive contracts.

Below is the full statement from ADOR:

*This statement is in response to the actions required by the artist's legal notice.*

Hello, this is ADOR.

On October 7, 2024, BELIF+ released a statement regarding the 'manager ignoring' incident through their BELIF+ X account. ADOR has maintained a cautious stance to avoid unnecessary controversy surrounding our artists. However, despite our efforts, the related issues remain unresolved, prompting us to clarify our position.

BELIF+'s claims are entirely inconsistent with Hani's account. Hani clearly recalls that on May 27, 2024, a member of BELIF+ made comments to her suggesting 'ignore' or 'just pass by.' Given that this incident occurred in a brief moment, it is unreasonable to expect the victim to recall every detail to validate their experience.

We at ADOR fully trust our artist's words and sincerely regret the harm Hani has endured. We hope BELIF+ will acknowledge Hani's suffering and show a respectful and sincere attitude to prevent further unnecessary controversy regarding our artists.
