ADOR Raises Concerns Over NewJeans' Recent Activities

On December 18, ADOR expressed concerns regarding the recent actions of the girl group NewJeans. The company stated that all social media accounts created outside of the official NewJeans accounts established by ADOR were done without prior consultation, violating their exclusive contract. This has led to inquiries and complaints from advertisers and other third parties regarding the content posted on these unauthorized accounts.
ADOR warned that any separate entertainment activities conducted through these accounts could lead to legal issues, prompting them to communicate their concerns to the artists and their legal representatives, who are the members' parents.
The company emphasized that NewJeans has dedicated platforms, such as the fan communication app (포닝) and their official social media accounts, and expressed hope that the members would continue to engage with fans through these official channels.
NewJeans has claimed that their exclusive contract with ADOR was terminated as of November 29. Although ADOR has filed a lawsuit to confirm the validity of the contract, the members opened a new account under the name 'JINZ for Free' on December 14, stating, 'This is really us' and promising to connect more frequently with fans.
On December 18, they also released a photoshoot in collaboration with Vogue Korea, where the members opted to use their real names instead of the group name, further distancing themselves from ADOR. Notably, the former ADOR CEO, Min Hee-jin, was credited as the special director for this photoshoot, which has sparked controversy.
