Actress Ku Hye-sun Donates 1 Ton of Rice for Wildfire Relief

On March 27, actress Ku Hye-sun announced that she has donated 1 ton of rice to support victims of the recent wildfires in Gyeongbuk and Andong. She expressed her hopes for the situation to improve, stating, "I delivered the rice with a heart that wishes for the wildfire damage to be alleviated. I am grateful for the dedication of many people." She added, "I sincerely wish for a quick extinguishing and recovery, as well as for the residents to find peace and healing. Stay strong!"

Meanwhile, the wildfires that began in Sancheong, Gyeongnam, have been ongoing for over a week, spreading to Hadong. As of 6 PM on March 26, the firefighting efforts had achieved a 77% containment rate. Tragically, four individuals, including firefighters and public officials from Changnyeong County, lost their lives while battling the flames, and nine others sustained serious injuries.

A total of 941 households, comprising 1,573 individuals, have evacuated from the affected areas, including 357 households with 503 people in Sancheong and 584 households with 1,070 people in Hadong. The fires have damaged 72 locations, including 28 homes, two factories, and two religious facilities.
