Actress Kang Seo-ha Passes Away at 31 After Battle with Stomach Cancer

Actress Kang Seo-ha (real name Kang Ye-won), aged 31, sadly passed away on the morning of July 14, 2025, after a courageous fight against stomach cancer. Her agency, MCN Insight, confirmed her death, stating that her health had deteriorated rapidly during chemotherapy. A wake has been set up at the Catholic University of Korea Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, Room 8, with the funeral scheduled for July 16, and the burial site located in Haman, Gyeongnam.

A close friend of the late actress shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, reflecting on her enduring spirit despite immense pain, saying, "Even while enduring such great suffering, she worried about those around her. She hadn’t eaten properly for months but insisted on treating me to meals with her card. My angel." Fellow actress Park Joo-hyun also paid her respects, stating, "Yewon, please don’t suffer anymore and keep that beautiful smile in the afterlife."

Born in 1994, Kang Seo-ha graduated from the Korea National University of Arts, majoring in acting. She made her entertainment debut in 2012 with the music video for 'Far Away' by Brave Guys. She began her acting career in earnest with the JTBC series 'Seonam Girls High School Investigators' and went on to appear in various dramas including KBS2's 'Assembly', MBC's 'Hwajung', KBS2's 'Again, My Love', 'Wave, Wave', SBS's 'Chest Surgery - The Doctors Who Stole Hearts', and 'Nobody Knows'. She completed filming for the movie 'Mangnae-in' last year.
