Actress Jung Ga-eun Passes Taxi Driver Interview After Divorce Struggles

Jung Ga-eun (정가은), a 47-year-old actress who has openly shared her financial struggles following her divorce, has successfully passed an interview to become a taxi driver. On June 16, she showcased her interview experience on her YouTube channel.

In her video, Jung revealed her attempts to secure a taxi job, sharing that many companies responded negatively to her inquiries, stating they do not hire women or do not offer part-time positions. As a single mother balancing her broadcasting career, she was specifically looking for part-time work. Eventually, she found a company that offered part-time positions and dressed neatly for her interview.

During the interview, a company representative explained the pay structure, noting that they had never hired a woman in their 65-year history. They mentioned that as the first female employee, she would not have to worry about a commission system; instead, drivers would receive a fixed salary based on the fares they collected.

Jung expressed her belief that working as a taxi driver would provide valuable life lessons. She also shared that her father was a taxi driver, which contributed to her service-oriented mindset. After passing the interview, she signed up for driver insurance. However, a teaser for the next episode hinted at some restrictions, as the manager mentioned that while she could not drive yet, she could participate in training.

Jung Ga-eun debuted as a model in 1997 and gained fame through her role in tvN's Roller Coaster (롤러코스터). She married a businessman in 2016 and had a daughter, but they divorced in 2017. Last year, she made headlines by revealing her financial difficulties post-divorce.
