Actress Hwang Woo-yeon Reveals She Wrote a Suicide Note Amid Struggles

On the December 12 episode of MBN's 특종세상 (Exclusive World), actress Hwang Woo-yeon opened up about her recent struggles after becoming a victim of fraud. Following her sudden retirement, she has been living in a self-built country house with three rescue dogs. Hwang even invested in a special drying room for large breeds and created a dedicated space for her pets. She shared, 'If it weren't for them, I would have already written a suicide note.'

Hwang also mentioned the influence of renowned writer Kim Jung-soo from the series 전원일기 (Country Diary), who praised her greatly, leading to more roles in her career. However, she faced a turning point when all her scripts changed, causing her to reflect critically on herself. This led to a loss of self-esteem and confidence, resulting in depression and panic disorder. Thankfully, she is gradually recovering through her life in the countryside with her dogs.
