Actress Han Ye-ri Joins Candlelight Vigil Supporting Impeachment of President Yoon

Actress 한예리 (Han Ye-ri) participated in a candlelight vigil in front of the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul, alongside citizens protesting for the impeachment of President 윤석열 (Yoon Suk-yeol). On December 9, she shared a recent photo without any accompanying text, showcasing her involvement in the demonstration despite the cold winter weather. The image captured her sitting in front of the National Assembly, actively joining the crowd in chanting for the president's impeachment. Even as temperatures dropped below freezing and the event continued late into the night, she stood in solidarity with fellow citizens, making her stance clear.
This protest follows President Yoon's emergency briefing on December 3, where he declared a state of emergency, which was quickly countered by a resolution demanding its repeal, passing unanimously with the support of all 190 present lawmakers. On December 7, the National Assembly voted on the impeachment motion against President Yoon after a special investigation law concerning First Lady 김건희 (Kim Geon-hee) was rejected. Members of the ruling party, 국민의힘 (People Power Party), left the assembly before the vote on the impeachment motion, which ultimately failed to gather the required 200 votes and was automatically dismissed.
In addition to Han Ye-ri, many other prominent figures in the entertainment industry, including directors 봉준호 (Bong Joon-ho) and 박찬욱 (Park Chan-wook), as well as actors 고현정 (Go Hyun-jung), 고민시 (Ko Min-si), 이승환 (Lee Seung-hwan), and 신소율 (Shin So-yul), have expressed their support for the impeachment movement.
