Actress Cheon Eun-kyung Shares Her Life After 30 Years in 'Special Report World'

In the latest episode of MBN's Special Report World (특종세상), actress Cheon Eun-kyung, known for her role as 'Princess Daily' in the film UFO (외계에서 온 우뢰매), revealed her new chapter in life after 30 years. Starting her day by caring for eight cats, she shared, "Sarang is from the underground parking lot, and I took in another cat that someone abandoned. Thanks to Sarang, my cat family has grown to eight."

Cheon Eun-kyung, who prefers minimal makeup and even creates her own cosmetics, emphasized the importance of sunscreen in her routine. Her first task upon arriving at a restaurant was to prepare kimchi, which she noted is a popular dish among customers. "I make it in a style that people love, and I’m grateful for their compliments. As the owner, I have to know everything about my business," she said with a bright smile.

However, her journey has not been without challenges. After her divorce, she took over a friend's nail salon in Hannam-dong, which had been struggling for a year and a half. "I couldn't just walk away from it due to my pride," she explained, leading her to start her own business. She initially borrowed 60 million won but soon found herself needing more loans, even putting her house up as collateral.

Cheon credits her father for both her acting career and her resilience. During tough times, he supported her financially, saying, "Use this money since I’m not using it right now." He even provided funds when she had to go to the hospital. Her father, who ran a film company, also helped her find a body double for a film that featured nudity, but the media only focused on that aspect, labeling her as an erotic actress.

Reflecting on her past, Cheon recalled her father's advice to continue acting for two more years, advice she initially ignored, leading to her leaving home. She expressed regret over not recognizing the good environment she had. "During my acting career, many films had an erotic theme. My father even produced a film called 'You Are Baby's Breath' because of me, but it didn’t do well at the box office," she said, her eyes welling with tears.

Despite the setbacks, her father remained strong. Three years ago, she acted in an independent film partly to honor him. Director Kim Young-won praised her for her straightforwardness, saying he was initially worried she would ask for special treatment due to her past stardom, but she was down-to-earth and easy to work with.

After four years, Cheon visited her father's grave, overwhelmed with emotion. "I came with a heavy heart and brought a photo he liked. I’m sorry I couldn’t do as much as he expected," she said, shedding tears as she cleaned his grave.
