Actress Cha Young-ok Reveals Heartbreaking Fraud Case Impacting Her and Friends

In a recent episode of MBN's current affairs program, 특종세상 (Exclusive World), actress Cha Young-ok shared her distressing experience of being a victim of fraud, which has also affected her acquaintances. The episode aired on January 30, 2025, and highlighted the struggles of the seasoned actress, known for her elegant looks and roles as a wealthy matriarch.

Cha, who has been largely absent from the public eye for the past four years, revealed that she lost not only her wealth but also her emotional well-being due to a betrayal in love. Currently embroiled in a lengthy legal battle that has lasted five years, she visited a law office only to receive the devastating news that she would not be able to recover the money she had lost.

During the show, she met with another victim who had also suffered significant financial losses, amounting to millions, due to the same perpetrator. Overwhelmed with emotion, Cha shed tears as she reflected on the betrayal, feeling even more hurt that her trust had been exploited by someone close to her.

The other victim expressed their sorrow, stating, "It feels like my life has been stolen, and I was used." Cha echoed these sentiments, saying, "This is the first time I've ever felt such deep betrayal from a person. It has devastated my body and mind, and I feel like my assets have been drained completely. I can't even put into words how deceived I feel."

Later in the episode, Cha confessed to her younger sibling about an additional hidden debt of 100 million KRW, revealing that she still owed 200 million KRW to the fraudster. Her sibling was left in shock upon learning that their sister had incurred such a significant debt due to the situation.
