Actor Shin Hyun-joon Attends Luncheon at the Blue House

Actor Shin Hyun-joon attended a luncheon at the Blue House, invited as a representative of veteran families. On June 27, he shared several photos on Instagram without much explanation, showcasing his presence at the event. The images included moments with President Lee Jae-myung and First Lady Kim Hye-kyung, as well as fellow veteran families. He also displayed a towel inscribed with the phrase, 'We remember the heroes who protected South Korea.'

Shin Hyun-joon is the son of the late Colonel Shin In-kyun, a veteran of the Korean War, and was specially invited to the event. He has often expressed his admiration for his father. In a November 2022 appearance on Channel A's 'Dad is a Flower Boy,' he recalled how everyone referred to his father as a 'gentleman' due to his impeccable manners, stating, 'He always yielded to others while walking. I often thought I wanted to be a wonderful adult like my father.' He even shared his father's military uniform with his children, reminiscing about his father's life.

The Blue House hosted over 160 national merit recipients and veteran families for the luncheon in honor of National Defense and Veterans Month. The event aimed to pay the highest respect and express gratitude to those who sacrificed and dedicated themselves to the nation. President Lee and First Lady Kim shared a meal featuring dishes like crab meat and abalone salad and steamed short ribs, while expressing their appreciation for the sacrifices made for the country.
